This year, Boxing Day falls on a Sunday, and we don’t work Sundays, period. Full stop. No question. In this matter, Eddie’s company policy trumps North American retail tradition. Time off, spent with family, is infinitely more important than the biggest sale day of the year.

This does not mean our sale is cancelled. Not at all — it’s still on, just postponed a little. It starts 9 am sharp, Saturday, January 15th.

By that time, Plastic Santa will be back in his box, and the kafuffle will be over. We’ll fill the store with exquisite stuff, price it, in some cases, up to seventy percent off, and give dibs to our loyal mailing-list customers. (It’s shameless how we take care of our own.) We’ll tell them all about it —full disclosure — a week or so in advance, so they can get here early and scoop the best bargains.
